An Acer project may involve TravelMate laptops, Veriton desktops or accompanying monitors. The right choice depends on available space, travel and applications. In an SME in French-speaking Switzerland, a shared reception computer needs different session arrangements from a personal laptop. We start with these working situations to build an understandable shortlist, without assuming that every device from one manufacturer offers the same features.
Assess TravelMate configurations against your team's travel patterns and applications, then verify connections, peripherals and maintenance arrangements for the exact product reference being proposed rather than relying on the range name.
Choose a Veriton form factor suited to the desks and applications involved, checking the components, available space and upgrade possibilities of the selected computer before standardising equipment across a department.
Select Acer displays around the tasks performed, readability and existing computers, then check the required connections and adjustments before ordering several identical screens for people working in the same department.
Prepare a list of accessories compatible with the Acer computers involved, testing connections and everyday use so that individual workarounds are less likely when equipment is handed over to staff.
Organise Acer computers used by several people with identifiable access, consistent settings and an incident reporting process, taking account of working hours, required applications and responsibility for changes to the workstation.
Document Acer product references, installed software and available warranties, then plan updates and replacement using the actual condition of your computer fleet, application requirements and the needs of each team.
From initial scoping to ongoing support, the agreed work and each party’s responsibilities are defined with you before implementation.

Identified dependencies, with backup and recovery arrangements to prepare.
Documented joiners, leavers and changes in responsibility.
Accessible configuration, licence and upcoming renewal records.
Uses, limitations and frequently asked questions: the points to clarify when preparing your project.
Memory, storage, connectivity and the operating system edition must suit your business software. We check existing monitors, headsets, printers and accessories. For mobile work, charging and operating conditions matter as much as the processor. This preparation fits into managed IT when the fleet needs consistent administration, with documented applications and settings.
We prepare a pilot device and test representative tasks: signing into email, accessing folders, making video calls and using business software. Data to transfer is identified before the old computer is taken back. Drivers and updates are selected for the exact model. Handover includes instructions for access and incident reporting, followed by initial follow-up within our IT support arrangements.
A specification sheet does not describe every aspect of service continuity. Warranty conditions, repair options and quoted turnaround times need checking at purchase. A spare device may be appropriate for a critical role. Backing up documents and retaining configuration details makes reinstallation easier to prepare. Upgrade options are model-specific: we do not assume that memory or a drive can be added later.
Is a consumer computer suitable for a business? Administration, applications, support and required peripherals need examination. Purchase price alone cannot settle the choice.
Can we retain part of the current fleet? Yes, where the condition of the equipment and its software environment allow it. An IT audit helps plan gradual replacement and avoid purchasing machines that do not meet operational requirements.
The Acer for Business catalogue presents professional product families and provides access to product information, drivers and manuals. Swiss availability and warranty arrangements must be confirmed for the configuration actually being proposed.
Review of your needs, comparison of options and clearly explained priorities.

Agreed support scope, documentation, licences and next steps.
