A useful backup corresponds to identified data and a recovery scenario that people understand. With Veeam, we start with the applications, machines and files your SME must restore. Their owners help define acceptable data loss and the order for bringing services back. For your business in French-speaking Switzerland, this preparation shapes jobs, repositories and tests around operational needs.
Define supported machines and data, then schedule execution around application needs and business priorities.
Size the destinations receiving your copies, accounting for capacity, access and required retention periods.
Assess a hardened repository and its immutability against Veeam prerequisites and the chosen backup architecture.
Plan distinct copies to reduce dependence on a single piece of equipment, access path or physical location.
Select recovery methods appropriate to the protected workloads and verify them with a representative business case.
Assign execution monitoring and anomaly handling to identified people, with an escalation procedure when a backup fails.
From initial scoping to ongoing support, the agreed work and each party’s responsibilities are defined with you before implementation.
Configuration and monitoring of local and cloud backups.
Backup of workstations, servers, Microsoft 365 and business applications.
A recovery plan tailored to your critical services.
Clear, up-to-date procedures for your teams.
Regular restore tests to check that procedures work.
A dedicated contact to develop your solutions as your needs change.
We start with your teams’ needs, business applications and organisational constraints.

Share client files between colleagues, with appropriate access and documents that are easy to find.

Protect patient records and maintain the tools needed for consultations.

Find plans and files on site while keeping control of access for everyone involved.

Organise access for employees, elected representatives and volunteers, and make handovers easier when teams change.
Tools alone are not enough. Ongoing management, access and documentation need to remain clear over time.
Roles, permissions and protections suited to the agreed scope.
Identified dependencies, with backup and recovery arrangements to prepare.
Documented joiners, leavers and changes in responsibility.
Accessible configuration, licence and upcoming renewal records.
Uses, limitations and frequently asked questions: the points to clarify when preparing your project.
The presence of Veeam does not prove that every service is covered. We inventory sources, dependencies and exclusions. Compatibility must be checked for the product version, platform and backup method. Cloud services may require a separate product and configuration. Your backup and continuity plan identifies each important data source and its owner, with retention periods and recovery requirements that can be reviewed.
Administrative accounts, repositories and encryption keys also require protection. Veeam documents component hardening and hardened repositories with configured immutability periods. Implementation must respect product prerequisites and limits. We assess access separation and the location of copies. A copy kept on the production hardware remains exposed to losing that equipment; architecture needs to account for the failure scenarios that matter to your business.
A test should answer a practical question: recover a file, start a machine again or reopen an application. We define a test environment that avoids collisions with production. Checks cover restored content, access and necessary dependencies. The observed duration is recorded together with test conditions. It informs recovery planning without becoming a guarantee for every possible incident.
A new server, a moved application or growing data volumes can change backup needs. Monitoring reviews errors, capacity and the age of the latest usable recovery points. Retention is compared with business requirements and available space. Sunitech can include these checks in an agreed managed IT service, with named responsibilities, escalation rules and a schedule for restoration tests.
Is a successful job status sufficient? It confirms execution according to the configuration. Recovering the required service still needs an appropriate restoration test.
Does immutability prevent every loss? It protects certain files against modification or deletion for a defined period, depending on the repository and configuration. Separate copies, protected access and tests remain necessary.
Read the hardened repository guide, repository immutability settings and guidance on securing backup infrastructure. Available capabilities depend on your product and version.
Review of your needs, comparison of options and clearly explained priorities.
Preparation, configuration, testing and coordination with the relevant providers.
Agreed support scope, documentation, licences and next steps.
