A Windows 11 project starts with the devices actually in use: model, hardware condition, installed operating system, applications and peripherals. Decisions may differ between an administrative laptop, a design workstation and a computer connected to specialist equipment.
An IT audit helps separate devices suitable for upgrade, those needing replacement and situations requiring specific treatment. For an SME in French-speaking Switzerland, this preparation allows interventions to be planned around important operating periods, rather than discovering an incompatibility on the day of the change.
Check Windows 11 requirements, including the processor, firmware and TPM 2.0, then assess memory and storage against the software in use before deciding which computers to upgrade and which may need replacement.
Test business applications on Windows 11 with their publishers and representative users, then verify critical tasks before extending the change to computers that rely on those applications throughout their normal working day.
Check Windows 11 drivers and peripherals, including printers and specialised equipment, through practical tests that confirm an installed computer actually allows its user to complete the work expected in their particular role.
Review Windows 11 device encryption against the selected edition and licensing rights, then document responsibilities and recovery arrangements before finalising the security configuration for the computers included in the agreed deployment scope.
Prepare Windows 11 settings needed by users and assess management through Intune in a suitable environment, then test access, documents and configuration details after each planned intervention on the computers being deployed.
Organise Windows 11 updates and support lifecycle tracking, plan checks after migration and assign recurring actions as well as user support arrangements so that maintaining the computers remains part of the agreed operational scope.
From initial scoping to ongoing support, the agreed work and each party’s responsibilities are defined with you before implementation.
Prompt help with workstations and business applications.
Handling and follow-up until normal service is restored.
Configuration, updates and monitoring of your IT equipment.
Monitoring, patches and optimisation to prevent interruptions.
Help with use, administration and team support.
Visits planned around your needs.
We start with your teams’ needs, business applications and organisational constraints.

Share client files between colleagues, with appropriate access and documents that are easy to find.

Protect patient records and maintain the tools needed for consultations.

Find plans and files on site while keeping control of access for everyone involved.

Organise access for employees, elected representatives and volunteers, and make handovers easier when teams change.
Tools alone are not enough. Ongoing management, access and documentation need to remain clear over time.
Roles, permissions and protections suited to the agreed scope.
Identified dependencies, with backup and recovery arrangements to prepare.
Documented joiners, leavers and changes in responsibility.
Accessible configuration, licence and upcoming renewal records.
Uses, limitations and frequently asked questions: the points to clarify when preparing your project.
Microsoft's system requirements include a compatible processor, UEFI firmware capable of Secure Boot and TPM 2.0. Meeting a technical minimum does not, however, mean a device is suitably sized for your business software.
Review memory, available storage, drivers and peripherals against the tasks performed. Check the Windows edition, licensing rights and required administration features separately. A computer that starts successfully can still have problems with an essential printer or application. Acceptance should therefore reflect everyday work rather than installation status alone.
The pilot should include common applications and special cases such as remote access, printing, signing, shared files or production tools. The people involved should be able to complete their usual tasks before rollout is approved.
Plan how data will be protected, which settings must be restored and what happens if a device cannot return to service as expected. Microsoft Intune can help manage configurations in a suitable environment. Deployment methods and required entitlements still need to be confirmed for your fleet. Keep a clear record of exceptions and the decisions taken.
A successful migration does not end with installation. Updates, access, encryption and endpoint protection still need attention. The Windows version in use also has a support lifecycle to monitor.
Sunitech can scope inventory, testing, device preparation and a procedural handover. Recurring tasks and support arrangements must be defined in the agreed engagement. A cybersecurity review connects those settings with business requirements, without treating an operating system change as complete protection against incidents. Record who approves updates and how application problems will be investigated after deployment.
No. Some devices may qualify for an upgrade, while others need replacement or an assessed interim arrangement. Standard Windows 10 support ended on 14 October 2025. Check special editions and extended-update options under their own conditions; they do not remove the need for a migration plan.
Obtain compatibility information from its vendor and test a representative configuration. A software update, setting change or different arrangement may be required. Do not extend the rollout while a critical task remains blocked and no continuity arrangement has been agreed. Include the application's owner in the decision rather than treating the issue as a Windows installation problem alone.
That depends on the method chosen and the device's condition. Inventory local data, verify its protection and prepare the settings users need. Afterwards, open representative documents and check access. A synchronisation folder being present does not prove that every important file has been uploaded. Validate the result with the person who uses the device.
