Intune is a cloud service for managing devices and applications. Microsoft's overview distinguishes device management from management of work applications. Capabilities vary by platform, management mode and licence.
For an SME, the project starts with a reliable inventory of device owners, users, operating systems, software and special uses. A shared reception computer may need different treatment from a mobile employee's laptop. Reflect those differences in the management profiles rather than trying to correct an unsuitable standard configuration with numerous exceptions later.
Prepare device enrolment in Intune according to ownership, operating system and the requirements of the chosen method, then test a representative sample before adding equipment that employees already use for their work.
Define Intune profiles with a shared baseline and settings suited to user roles, then check local accounts, encryption and the peripherals required by the business applications used by each group of employees.
Prepare application distribution with Intune according to roles and platforms, test installation and any special permission requirements, and investigate failures before extending the planned deployment to the rest of the employee group.
Define Intune compliance criteria and their possible connection with Entra ID according to licences, then provide clear support arrangements when a device no longer meets the conditions for accessing business applications.
Assess Intune application protection on supported platforms, including appropriate personal device scenarios, then explain the business controls applied and which data is affected when access needs to be withdrawn from the user.
Prepare update settings for devices managed with Intune while considering business software requirements, then follow up on delays, exceptions and equipment that no longer communicates with the management console as expected.
From initial scoping to ongoing support, the agreed work and each party’s responsibilities are defined with you before implementation.
Prompt help with workstations and business applications.
Handling and follow-up until normal service is restored.
Configuration, updates and monitoring of your IT equipment.
Monitoring, patches and optimisation to prevent interruptions.
Help with use, administration and team support.
Visits planned around your needs.
We start with your teams’ needs, business applications and organisational constraints.

Share client files between colleagues, with appropriate access and documents that are easy to find.

Protect patient records and maintain the tools needed for consultations.

Find plans and files on site while keeping control of access for everyone involved.

Organise access for employees, elected representatives and volunteers, and make handovers easier when teams change.
Tools alone are not enough. Ongoing management, access and documentation need to remain clear over time.
Roles, permissions and protections suited to the agreed scope.
Identified dependencies, with backup and recovery arrangements to prepare.
Documented joiners, leavers and changes in responsibility.
Accessible configuration, licence and upcoming renewal records.
Uses, limitations and frequently asked questions: the points to clarify when preparing your project.
Define a common baseline, then identify the applications each role needs. Review security settings, encryption, local accounts and updates alongside the requirements of business software.
A pilot should test installation, document access, peripherals and tools that require particular permissions. For Windows 11 devices, hardware compatibility and versions still need checking. The intended result is a documented, repeatable configuration rather than a collection of settings nobody can explain. Include the employee's first sign-in and everyday work in acceptance checks, not only a successful enrolment status.
Device management and permission to access an application are related, but need to be designed together. Microsoft Entra ID can participate in those decisions according to the capabilities and licences available.
Decide how to handle a non-compliant device, an overdue update or a lost phone. Blocking access without a support procedure can interrupt important work. Provide an understandable message, a contact and steps to return to an acceptable state, with approval for temporary exceptions. This makes enforcement something staff can resolve rather than an unexplained technical barrier.
A management console does not organise device operations by itself. Deployment failures, alerts and devices that stop communicating need attention. The engagement should specify checks, useful reports and authorised actions.
Sunitech can scope profile preparation, a phased rollout and a procedural handover. IT governance helps assign responsibility for inventory, software and exceptions. Support arrangements, hours and response times must be agreed; they do not follow automatically from buying an Intune licence. Decide how changes will be recorded so that the next administrator can understand the device's history.
Some scenarios use application management without device enrolment. Check supported applications and platforms. Explain to employees which elements belong to the business, which controls apply and which data is affected when access is removed. This approach does not automatically replace full management of a company-owned device.
Managing configurations and applications is different from detecting and responding to threats. Identify existing protection and any additional tools required. Successfully distributing a policy does not, by itself, prove that an incident was investigated or that a compromised device was recovered. Define the responsibilities for both device management and security response.
Yes, a project can assess enrolment without replacing the entire fleet. Check the operating system, ownership, data state and requirements of the chosen method. Some changes may need user action or more extensive preparation. A representative test helps estimate the effort before wider deployment and confirms whether a device needs a different migration approach.
